So having just finished BaK, a fantastic game btw, I have a question - why exactly are moredhel trying to kill Gorath in the first chapter? In later chapter, a mordhel captain captures him and drags him to Sar-Sargoth, only to be scolded by Delekhan, that he messed up everything. Seems like Delekhan wanted Gorath to be in the Kingdom so trying to kill him doesn't make sense.

If anyone still remembers the story, cheers for an answer.

If Gorath had been killed at the beginning of the story and thus never managed to deliver the warning to Krondor then Delekhan probably would have been able to enter the Dimwood via the rift machine and hit Sethanon (overwhelming the garrison there) before Arutha could do anything about it.

However, once Arutha had been warned about the invasion plot, he mustered his forces and was waiting nearby for word of where the attack would come. At that point Delekhan needed to get Arutha's forces out of the area in order to pull off his Dimwood-to-Sethanon strategy, and Gorath had become the means of getting the false intel (that Northwarden was the target) to Arutha.
