Hi,

In one of the first towns I visited there was a talk of thieves who had stolen..some gemstones I believe? In any case, they also named a person who might know more about the whole thing. I forgot to write the information down however and now I can't recall the name or where he might be found. If someone remembers what I'm talking about, could you please remind me? ^^ I also advanced to chapter 2, I hope this doesn't stop from solving the quest? I believe it's a quest anyway...
IIRC, that quest can only be solved in chapter 1, but I could be mistaken.

The NPC you're looking for is in the southeastern part of that map zone. I don't remember the name of the nearby town offhand, but that zone consists of a road loop with LaMut along its western side. There's a small place near the southeastern edge of the loop; the NPC can be met on the roads nearby.

Okay, thanks! Hm, how much am I actually supposed to explore in the first chapter? Because I mostly just headed south towards Krondor and visited places along the way.
There are many chapter-specific events and/or subplots, but most things will carry over from one chapter to the next if not killed, and a few subplots may change slightly if not dealt with in a given chapter instead of disappearing entirely.

These chapter-specific events may give you better skills/items and provide insight into the overall plot, but none of them are strictly necessary to finish.

Ooh I see. Would you suggest I go wandering all around the map before starting with chapter 2?
It certainly won't hurt, but don't feel compelled to poke into every corner (unless you want to)!
