The game played just fine until I got to Chapter 5 where Duke Martin asks that I poison rations in 3 Moredhel wordlock chests. The problem is that when I attempt to open each chest, the language doesn't change to English. This occurred again when the minstrel Tammney asked for special stones to be retrieved from a cave and there were 3 more chests and the same problem.....NO ENGLISH! Please help.

I seem to recall Patrus starts the chapter already knowing it. Try checking his spells to see if it is already there.

Yes, he already knows it. I couldn't remember it you started Chapter 5 with Patrus or not.

Yeah, Patrus has one or two spells that Owyn doesn't have ready access to (unless you get REALLY lucky with a certain plot item later). Of course, Union isn't really necessary in Owyn's case since Gorath will always be in any chapter with him.

Unfortunately, Patrus is hamstrung by usually being placed in a stupidly exposed position at the start of every combat, so he gets mobbed and can't cast anything. The casting-enhancement amulets are one way to mitigate that.
