Hello there,
just started playing Konung 1, but the game freezes each time the music reaches track 4 ...or 5.
So yes: in-game music is not "dynamic", just a playlist of songs, which is fine to me, but the game freezes every time the music reaches track 4/5. Win10 here..
Please help me!

I had the same problem. I turned the music off in the options menu. Since then no freezes.
Is there really no other way to solve it?

I'm having the same issue so i came here on the forum sure that i couldn't be the one, but.......

This solution seem really drastic, nonetheless effective i'm sure, but i would really like music during my playthrough.

Any other ideas?
I just submitted dxdiag to gog then remembered maybe something will be in the forums. Haven't attempted turning off the sounds, I wonder if the next track is corrupted. I'll have a go and see if that works, but what's the point of not having the sounds.

I tested on win 10 first, then win 7, then win xp, same issue.

Windows 10 Home, same issue. Turning off Music fixes things. But I like the music in this game...

All files from \Konung\MUSIC folder play fine, I also checked for errors as described here: https://hydrogenaud.io/index.php/topic,111196.msg916191.html#msg916191 . No errors found.

Some help from GOG would be welcome.
I too tested the files after your post Romukas and have the same results! :(

Well since the music appears to just be cycling, I'll load it up in vlc player and set to random repeat all until I hear something back on my support ticket.

Well that sure is good and simple solution! Thank you, that will do for now.
Having the same issue as well :(
Same here. Game Freezes after a song finishes. Every time.
The file "Konung/MUSIC/Track01.ogg" is missing. I converted the mp3 from the soundtrack to ogg and copied in the sound directory, this solved the crash.

This approach didn't work for me on Windows 10.

Replacing winmm.dll with the generic Windows 10 patched version avoids the freeze, but the music then simply stops altogether when it gets to the troublesome track.

Honestly dude?
If you need to supplement the track, check out Heilungs latest release.

I had the orginal game on cd before getting it on GOG, and I can tell you that the music is not supposed to just play tracks... the music is not working right. A certain track is supposed to kick in when combat starts, and for different areas as well. It's supposed to be more dynamic. First thing I noticed when launching the game was the song that wasn't supposed to be playing. It would be great if someone could make a fix so the music worked properly, but unfortunately, I am not that skilled...
Where to find Track01?

I tried rename the tracks again from 01 to 10 but freeze persist.

Can you just add any Track01 to the folder?
