Hello,

Thank you for reaching out and for the heads up regarding the offline installers. I have reached out to the appropriate team on our side to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.

This is surprising because I thought that the installer upgrade system was fully automated. Thank you for sharing HaploXar.

it actually is.. Don't know why this time they weren't created...Maybe the update was uploaded as a Beta? Usually Offline installers for Beta patches aren't created. Let's wait for support to see what happens.
So we missed 1.0.1 and 1.0.2 already and now 1.1.0 has been released. I guess GoG is just going to wait until they release their final patch in a couple years before they post it to us non Galaxy users.

They did say they are working on it, tbf its been like 2 weeks. I know it sucks to miss out of patches but I would hold off on being mad or upset for a little longer

EDIT: A few more days have passed and nothing new... hopefully soon
EDIT 2: Well its christmas now and still no fix. But Merry Christmas everyone!
EDIT 3: A new year approaches... maybe I should put in another trouble ticket?
Edit 4: I put in a new trouble ticket..

Im getting confused, but isnt Steam's Version still at 1.1? So they updated the GOG Version before Steam?

I mean i don't mind, im really interested in getting the game here, rather then Steam, but the fear of missing/not getting updates, still is there.

And seeing them make an Update for GOG first, is something i havent seen this far. Normaly it feels like most Devs/Publishers update Steam before anything else.

You are confused I think. I am talking about the offline installers which were up until now dramatically outdated.

As for versioning, gog 1.3 does not mean that the steam version is 1.3 necessary . The same game version could be "called" with different number depending on the platform.

The case with this game was that the game was updated regularly through the steam client and through the Gog Galaxy client. However the Gog offline installers(the client independent installation files) were lagging behind drastically.

Hope I was clear enough :D

Still if what I said sounds like gibberish, feel free to ask :)

P.s. they didn't update the gog version before the steam one.

hey,

Don't know what the situation with Divinity Original Sin is in order to compare properly.

With KOH 2 what i know is:

1. Single Player - Fully playable, no game content locked behind some sort of online activation, Gog Galaxy client dependent or what so ever. The game can be installed using both the offline installer or the GOG Galaxy client and after installation can be started without the GOG Galaxy client from the game executable.

2. Multiplayer - game needs to be launched through GOG Galaxy client. There is cross platform multiplayer on pc. Meaning steam and gog (and i guess epic store) owners of the game can play with each other. No LAN support, no Direct IP, No ect.

3. Comparison between gog and steam version of the game (i own both):
The game had so far been updated simultaneously for Steam users and for GOG Galaxy Users (so together for all users using a Client). Gog offline installers users had to wait for some time (little longer then a month) for the latest update the other two user groups got earlier. Gog offline installers missed 2 (i think) game updates during that time and the offline installers were updated to the latest KOH 2 version.

So hope that helps.

Thank you for this complete answer.

I was a bit unsure, because i saw someone writing in another forum post about having to use an thq account or click away some pop ups in the singleplayer of the game. or even data beeing send to thq.

After reading your answer, i think i will get it on GOG. Sure it may happen that i dont get the patches day 1, but if i get them, thats fine with me, mostly i use galaxy atm anyway. But would be cool if GOG would get devs/publishers to patch their games asap so that these always have the same versions as steam does, with or without having to use galaxy and if for some reason they couldnt patch them, they should communicate this a bit better.

Im always trying to find out if games are properly patched before buying them here.
Hopefully the new one comes up soon
Good news! The latest 1.5 update is available also on GOG!

Changelog:

Update Overview

This is the fourth major update since the release of Knights of Honor II: Sovereign. This version adds new unification quests for many kingdoms along with an improved UI to show the quest’s status. A new setting allows players to place up to 18 buildings in a single province, which not only increases the importance of smaller kingdoms with few provinces, but also introduces more gameplay styles and tactics.

The game’s AI also got a makeover, especially the economic decisions, army recruitment and kingdom stability have been improved, making the challenge more interesting and fun.

General

• Almost all kingdoms now have a unification quest
• Added new icons to show rebellion risk for provinces
• Changed rebellion triggers to be more predictable
• Rebellious population now depends on the population size of a province
• Buildings can now be reorganized via drag and drop
• The maximum amount of buildings slots in a province can now be set at game start
• Added several indicators and messages for pause and game speed in multiplayer

AI

• AI in general is now more stable and makes it harder for the player to "snowball" in late game
• Improved AI decisions when choosing a governor for a province
• AI now focuses province development of governed provinces
• AI takes more things into consideration when developing a province, like the cost of upgrades, province specialization, realm's needs, and more
• AI now spends more of its budget surplus for armies
• AI kingdoms now hire more knights and always try to govern all their provinces
• AI now tries hard to keep their kingdom stable and chooses skills and traditions accordingly
• Increased AI’s focus on book production

Miscellaneous
• Decreased the chance for vassals to become “Emperor of the World”
• Added new UI elements to show unification quest progress
