So, yesterday I purchased, downloaded & installed Knights and Merchants TPR onto my computer from this website & when I go to launch the game, the following error appears: "KM_TPR.exe has encountered a problem & needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience"

Anyone how to fix this error so I can actually play the game? I also sent a question to the GOG team as well to see if they have an answer.

I have an Intel Pentium 4 processor on a DELL Dimension 4600. I am using Windows XP home edition & have Direct X v. 9.0 If I need to include any more details about my computer, please let me know.

Did they already solve you problem (if so, then please post a solution for others)?

If you have this problem over and over again, then could you please post the complete error details you should get, when you see the "encountered a problem" screen?

I've got the same problem and can't find any solution. There's not even a real description of the problem in the error window... Let me know if you find out how to fix this!

Make sure you have DirectX installed and a graphics card with 3D acceleration (most computers have that these days though). You could try reinstalling DirectX 9.0c in case you're missing some files from the older versions (KaM relies on very old DirectX stuff). I've sometimes had old games which won't work until I reinstall an old version of DirectX (even though I have newer ones installed).

You could also try the KaM Remake, maybe it will work for you even if the original game won't:

The game isn't launching for me either. It just returns a "DD:Generic failure" error window. Is there any way to fix this?

What version of Windows are you using? You could try running it in compatibility mode.
