Hey, do the games work on Windows 10?

Thanks
Yeap
KQ8 doesn't. Not unless you make some adjustments (you'll have to read one of the many threads about KQ8 problems for details on that) and even those don't work for everybody. They didn't work for me
Ignore what cbingham said. Try it. I got it working on Windows 10 no prob. Didn't have to make any adjustments. If you run into any problems, just let us know, or search the forums
1-7 work fine.

8 won't work unless you move its folder outside of Program Files (which is generally a good idea to install games outside of anyways) and even then it can run like shit for the stupidest reasons. Ignore envisaged0ne.

Granted I have it running out of program files (as stated, you never should have it saved there). I have NEVER had it crash in windows 10 on my PC. If people have had problems with it, there are threads with available fixes. The biggest problem is if you don't have a cd rom or dvd drive. But saying it WON'T work under Win 10 is outright wrong & there are plenty of people that got it working. Sorry for those that have had problems, but it's wrong to say it won't work under Win 10.

For me it works better than it did under Win 7. With Win 7 I had to set compatibility mode to Win 95 or the intro would not play. It would just show a bunch of red & whtie lines. However, on Win 10, I didn't have to make any adjustments & everything plays fine, including the intro

If others chime in & insist that it can't run under Win 10, then I'll concede with the overall opinion. But personally I haven't had any problems with it, and I'm assuming I'm not the only one that got it running with little to no effort

KQ1-7 are using DOSBox and will run just fine.

For KQ8 ignore every other(?) post in this thread. It can be quite finicky to get running on any recent OS. Some people run into issues with the movies and others run afoul of the in-game script bugs. The community (well two users of it) have made fixes for them if you do have those problems. People run KQ8 on everything from Vista - Win 10 and even Wine on Linux.

There are still some smaller issues with nGlide in combination with 800x600 mode and some Intel drivers.
But most of the compatibilty issues and the well-known TalkComplete bug are fixed by kqmoefix: http://kqmoe.nicode.net/
I'm mostly on Linux and didn't had enough time to test the current Windows 10 version. But if you have any issues and some time for tests, send me an email. I'll will be back after Easter weekend :)
Nah guys, everyone knows you should run the game in dosbox!

^That has actually been possible since 2014 btw.

Anyway, Nicode's runtime patch above is the actual answer, there's a few other script bug fixes you can add but the main one is Nicode's patch since it addresses the actual issues with every different version of the executable.

Much better solution than the janky fixes I came up with when I messed with the executable and manually re-timed some cutscenes to get around the TalkComplete bug.
It does not help that KQ8 was released in a very buggy state, and the bugs were never completely quashed.
