I just finished playing through Kings Quest 1 and I would like to backup my save file. I have no idea where it's at. Can anyone help me out?

Probably here:
C:\Program Files\GOG.com\Kings Quest 1-2-3\Kings Quest 1

But if you're using a more recent version of Windows than XP, the Program Files dir might be different. The files tend to be named like: KQ1SG.6

That's assuming that you entered the directory as / otherwise it might be in one of the sub folders.
If you're on Vista or Win7 there's a chance the saves ended up in the VirtualStore folder.
hedwards: I checked that folder but I don't see anything like KQ1SG.6

Namur: I don't see a VirtualStore folder? Where exactly is this located?

I am using Windows 7, I probably should have put that in my first post. Here is a screenshot of my Kings Quest 1 folder...just in case I'm looking right at it and I don't see it.

Try looking here,

C:\users\<your_username>\AppData\Local\V irtual Store\Program Files\gog.com\<this_game>\

The AppData folder may be hidden by default. If so, go into folder options and tick the option for 'show hidden folders, drives and files'
Namur - I see the save data! That's exactly where it is. Thank you very much for your help.
