Hello all. Recently as an early Christmas gift, a friend of mine sent me the GOG versions of all the King's Quest games. So, I sat down last night to poke around with the first one.

For some reason, I cannot save the game. I'll admit that it's probably due to my own technical ignorance, but when I try to save it with the C:\ it says that whatever title I put in doesn't work/exist. If I delete the back slash then I'm in BIG trouble, because for some reason the program does not recognize my back slash key.

So, if I am going to continue, I need to find a fix. Any suggestions?

Rather than typing c: or c:\ , try just typing \ , then hit Enter and see if it lets you save the game

Ah ha! Yeah, that did it - from there it opened up a screen to let me name the save state. Going to go fiddle with it further--thanks for the help!

didn't work for me, just responds that there's no directory named "xyz", or whatever I named it.
Oh wow, that was fast, I realized that I didn't do the backslash only. Did so, and it worked. Silly billy me. Thanks!!
