Hi All,

On KQ 4 I am prompted for a word from the manual but the page numbers of the digital manual are not the same as the original, so I have been unable to locate the right word. Another site said to use ALT-D and type MARBLE but nothing came up from ALT-D.

Any help would be appreciated. Was quite happy to see this old series again.


OK, I found the answer. I used this manual.

1st, the Alt-D, then type in marble option only worked on the rare AGI version of KQ4. And only version 2.0. You're playing the SCI version. Did you use the Page / Word section of the manual that came with the GOG version?

You mean you didn't hold onto your original paper King's Quest IV manual from 1988?!

It's printed on decent paper. It held up just fine.

Yeap, same here. I do actually have the original kq4 manual and you'd swear it looks brand new

Then you must take better care of your game manuals than most people do. Sealed in plastic bags perhaps? :-P

I only kid, of course. The oldest game manual I have is from some old Atari game from the 80's, and it looks pristine. But why anyone would ever read a manual for an Atari game is beyond me...

I wish I still had my old Sierra game manuals. I do have the discs, but the manuals (save for a handful) seem to be lost to the ages, sadly.

The manual is in the extras... if you purchased it on GOG.

Not sure how this is even an issue?
