I just recently installed King's Quest VII from GOG's installer, and while still in the intro I noticed that the audio suffers from "noise pollution" - staccato bursts of hissing or "ch"-like sounds. These sounds don't actually interrupt the game audio - music and speech continue uninterrupted - but they do make it very unpleasant.

The problem is not with my speakers or audio drivers, but it may be a matter of not using the right DosBox settings. Has anyone encountered this problem, and possibly found a fix?

I would recommend editing the dosboxKQ7.conf file with Notepad. Go to the [mixer] settings and try adjusting the blocksize. If that doesn't work, you can try adjusting other sound settings to see if that helps

Do you have any other audio that is playing in the background or unnecessary programs running?
