For some reason there is no Top Icon Bar Menu icon choices in my KQIV. No Inventory, or "Eye", "hand" etc. This occurs for both full and window screens.

All that I have is a point total and the Title of the KQ IV Perils of Rosella....Anyone else have this problem?

It's not a problem, it's because it's an older game.

The older Sierra games use a text-parser, where you have to type in what you want to do (other than walking, which can be done with the direction keys).

So instead of clicking an eye on something, you need to type "look at house" or "pick up ball".

If you press the space bar, a box will come up and pause the game (so you have time to type).

Wow, living in the future. BTW, pressing any key you can type with will bring up the box, pressing space, I believe, re-types whatever you typed last time.

I think F3 also brings up the last thing you typed.

It was the sierra games that taught me how to touch type (and type quickly!). Especially in the earlier games where it didn't pause when you typed.

Also, if you press Escape or click the top bar, it turns into a small menu system that has some helpful commands, and shows you the keyboard shortcuts.
