Yes, I would really like to know this as well. While it is the weakest link in the series, it would be nice to have it working on current platforms.
Yes, it does run.
It depends on what you mean. It installs and starts, but has the same problems as before, which GOG hasn't solved. The problems are: impossible to fully control the graphics options (having 600x 800 resolution for example), very low fps and the worst part, a bug that makes the game crash no matter what you do when you get a weapon in the first town (after maybe 1 hour gaming).

This might be problems that are original design-flaws and impossible for GOG to fix, but I have to say i really regret buying this, as I expected a playable game.

I have it running just fine on 32 bit windows 7. I strongly suggest using zeckensack's Glide Wrapper. It will allow you to choose 3DFX and set the resolution to 800x600. Just make sure to turn off Dynamic Lighting or the game will run really slow. Also, for the game freeze after getting the axe, I found that if I set it to 1st person view by pressing F2 just before leaving the mill, it doesn't freeze anymore.

There are multiple threads that address these issues as well.

I play on vista, and have also tried it on XP, and pressing f2 (first person mode) before leaving the mill doesn't work. I haven't found any posts that solves this issue.

I had the wrapper installed before I got the game but it actually caused it to not start. I uninstalled the wrapper and the game worked.
