I know this game isn’t exactly a fan favourite - ;) - but I’ve always enjoyed it and want to play it again. For the most part things are working ok. I’ve applied all of nicode’s fixes/patches etc and the game works well enough. If I save my game I have to quit, then restart otherwise it loses sound and/or crashes. Also, upon entering a new region I lose sound so I have to save, quit then restart the game. These are only minor inconveniences that I don’t mind dealing with. However upon entering the Dimension of Death I’m running into a problem. The cut scene loads (sans sound), Connor kills the Shadow Bane and then ... nothing. The game locks up. I have to fire up the task manager and kill the game to unlock my computer. (Oddly enough, the task manager doesn’t show the program as ‘not responding’ or anything.) All other cut scenes thus far (eg - talking to the wizard, looking in the magic mirror etc) work perfectly fine and I had no trouble loading the castle region earlier in the game. Hopefully someone here can recommend a fix as I really want to be able to play this game again.

Here are some of my specs in case that helps. (Sorry if it’s not enough, I’m not really ‘tech-y’. Just let me know if you need any other information and I’ll try my best to get it.)

OS: Windows 8.1
Processor: AMD E2-1800 APU with Radeon HD graphics 1.70 GHz
RAM: 6.00 GB (5.71 GB useable)
System type: 64 bit OS, x64-based processor

Thanks in advance to anyone who can offer some help. Also, huge thanks to nicode for providing the patches/fixes for this game - it’s truly appreciated.

So while waiting for any replies to this post I've been searching through the forums looking for any possible answers and it seems I've found one. It was posted by iondrive back in 2012. I had to open the console, use the 'handsOff 0' code and presto - I'm back in control. Yay! Not sure if this will cause any glitches later on (they did mention it could cause some issues) but for now at least, things seem to be working great again. :D

EDIT: I can't seem to figure out a way to mark this as 'solved'. Sorry.
