King's Quest Mask of Eternity was running (mostly) fine for me up through Daventry and the Dimension of Death. There were a couple small glitches where it would crash on me but I could reload it and try again and it worked fine. In one case the program thought it was doing a couple of different things (had multiple windows open at once) and crashed because it was overworked.

Now, however, I've just completed the Dimension of Death. I enter the portal to the swamp and accept the change in maps. It offloads the Dimension of Death, saves the Swamp, and then loads. It gets to the end of the bar, goes to black, and crashes. I've tried over and over again but with no success. I changed whatever settings I could think of but nothing worked.

What's more annoying is that each time I try to get it to work I have to offload the swamp, resave the dimension of death, reload, and then enter the portal only to offload the dimension of death, resave the swamp, etc. etc. etc. I'm getting annoyed. I've tried probably ten times. All I need is to get into the swamp so I can save the game and NOT have to do that reloading process again. Any solutions?
