Screen keeps shaking at beginning of the game. How do I fix it?
the same here ....
Same problem the scrren keeps blinking and shaking, flickering consistently and it completely ruines the experience and makes the game unplayable and this is very disappointing because I bought this package strictly for Kings Quest 8

Also GOG.com has this supposed money back guarantee but I can find no number or any way to express problems about games and get the money back that I paid for, at least to just use it as credit on the site to get another game. Can anyone help in guiding me to the process of getting reimbursed for games that have severe technical problems

Click on one of the multitude of support links? Check this forum for possible fixes to the screen/graphics issue.
The only problem that I'm aware of, that might be described as flickering, is the desktop partially visible for some frames when using nGlide (included in the package and enabled by default).

First try to disable the desktop composition for the Mask.exe.

Else try if the problem persist if you're playing in software mode (DirectDraw).
If it's working you might rename the glide2x.dll in the game folder and try installing a newer version of nGlide or another Glide wrapper (dgVoodoo or Zeckensack's Glide wrapper).

I have and still do check all the possible support and forums for help with tech problems from the game I bout and I cant find any guidance for this problem, this problem has only been addressed about 4 or 5 days ago and I've looked through all the topics in the Kings quest forums and I mean all and no solution to this problem has been made nor do any of the support options on the site offer any guidance for this problem

I'm not a natural computer genius but I've been gaming since the dos days and when you say try to disable the desktop composition for mask.exe, what do you mean? for the shortcut? but I really don't necessarily care what it means rather than can you just tell how to do so

I meant use the support links to send a ticket in to GOG support. This is also how you would go about starting the refund process.

And that's what I meant as well, considering I just mentioned I have checked all the possible support meaning I have sent in submissions of my technical problems to the support team with GOG.com and have gotten no feedback from them

OK, that's completely unclear to me from what you posted before. It's very unusual to not have heard back from them. Did you at least get the automated response? If not check your spam filters/folder.

Laptop? Graphics chip? (Intel, ATI, Nvidia, etc.)

Something else to try would be to use DDraw.dll from Dege's dgvoodoo 2 package and set the game to use Direct Draw instead of Glide under options. http://dege.freeweb.hu/

Hahaha that's hilarious.

All I can say, don't use the Nglide supplied with the game. I have heard the newer version works better, and is as good or comparable to dgVoodoo2 and Zeckensack's for this game. Zeckensack's is probably slightly easier to set up, 'running' in the background. But you'd have to rename o rremove the files assocated with Nglide form your game folders.

As you said you don't know how to do that, I don't know how to make it much clearer (than the last person) to explain how, sorry. Or at least right now I don't have the time to write out a longer explanation. But there are probably other posts in this forum that would explain how in greater detail.

To be honest I don't always remember what I did the last time to install and get the game working. Especially when there are new extra steps like removal of some files, to install other files, and getting those other files to function correctly. It was easier when Nglide wasn't packed with the software, and I had more choice which glide package to use right out of the install. But the option to 'choose' from an install to not install nglide doesn't exist, so it takes extra steps to disable it (if I want to try other glide wrappers).

I'm not sure if you have told us which version of Windows you are using?
