EDIT: Just to update, my character also walks into the left wall and floats above the stairs in the three bears house, too. He can't go down the steps.
Okay, back when I was younger, I could never, ever finish the older King's Quest games with the text parser (because the computer not understanding anything frustrated me so much and I was very young and more used to point-and-click vs text games), so I bought them from GOG to replay them.
I am currently playing King's Quest III. I had fed the wizard when he returned from his first journey, and then he went to take a nap. I am not sure how long I have before he wakes up, so I was trying to rush to get more ingredients. So, I went down the mountain, got some mud and ocean water, cactus, and snakeskin.
I didn't have any problems until I got to the Three Bears' House.
I keep getting this message: "You need to move closer", even though I am right in front of the item in question.
The first time this happened is when I tried to get the small porridge bowl. After some maneuvering, I managed to get past the chair to get the small porridge. Alright, I thought. It was just a mistake on my part.
But...then I went upstairs to the second floor where the beds were. I knew I was supposed to open the drawer of the dresser near the smallest bed, so I went directly in front of the dresser and typed, "open drawer".
...The message I got: "You need to move closer." Okay. Maybe I was not at the right angle? I tried moving myself in various positions and retyping, "open drawer". But I still get the "You need to move closer" message.
Even when my character is practically blocking the dresser from view, the computer is still giving me that message.
I even watched Youtube videos, and I copied exactly how the players did it, and I still get that message. :(
Is this a glitch/bug?
