Last year I bought the King's Quest 7 & 8 pack here merely for KQ8 (as I have all of the other games already) I've been working my way through KQ8 (though I admit I've gotten busy and have put it on my backburner for a bit)

Anyways, I'm on my way to slay the Basilisk, and I don't know if it's happening because I'm at the wrong spot or if it's glitch or something, but when I cross the broken bridge (see attached screencap) I can get over the silver safes, but when I step onto the last section of bridge, Conner recrosses the bridge without jumping and I can't control him. Does anyone know what I may be doing wrong or how I can fix this?
