Is there a way to have King's Quest recognize your keyboard as azerty?
Nobody? given this is a text-input based game it's a real game-breaker.

GOG should mention this in the game description if this can't be fixed, in order to prevent other azerty-users from encountering the same problem.

Bah, Keyboard layout or worst case: Keymapper.

They should mention what? That it's a text based game? What did you think the games would be, considering they came out in the early 1980's? When a mouse was barely even invented yet. Most people who download these games know exactly what they are

They should mention it's not fit for Azerty-keyboards.
Try to avoid answering your own questions just to make a moot point.

It was a "rhetorical" question to make a valid point. You should think before you ask questions like that in the future. And don't blame GOG for not stating something that you should have known for yourself
I asked if it was possible to play this game on azerty-keyboards. Nothing in the game description talks about that, so I don't see what thinking I should have done that I haven't before asking my question. Point is: Even when knowing it's a text-based game, it doesn't mean I know it won't support azerty.

Second, the three first KQ games are in fact tagged with the label "point and click", as you can see on the games' page. Even if logical deductions would lead one to assume it's text-based, GOG has offered remakes before and tweeks are always possible. Second point is they shouldn't label it as point & click if it isn't.

Please refrain from replying as you're not intending to help out.
I will keep replying when you direct your posts to me. If you don't want me to reply to something you said to me, then stop replying back.

1st, you said "so I don't see what thinking I should have done that I haven't before asking my question" That doesn't make any sense. Please try to explain, clearly, what you meant.

2nd, you said that tweaks were always possible, so I assume you thought you might be able to tweak the updated versions to be compatible with your keyboard. Fair enough. But you said that GOG should mention that azerty keyboards don't work in the game description. That I don't agree with and upset me when I read it. If you were looking for help to get your keyboard to work, that's fine. But they shouldn't have to display anything and everything that the games will or won't work with. That is a ridiculous and unfair expectation. You can do some simple research yourself and find an answer to your question, or even a solution.
I don't see why you should have the last word, I'm trying to redirect people's attention to the matter at hand which is MY problem to which I'd like to see a solution if available.
Sure, then quit replying back to me. Or you can simply acknowledge that it's not GOG's responsibility to post that azerty keyboards may not work with the old dos games and that you simply wanted advice on how to get it to work. You opened the door to me commenting on your post when you stated what GOG should have done for you. And I don't think it's fair to put the blame on them

GOG is lucky to have a valiant knight such as yourself to defend their honor. Thank you for the topic hijack.
Anytime ;)
I don't have that specific game, but here is something that worked with other dosbox-based titles:

Find one of the .conf files, the one with an [autoexec] line in it. Just before or afer the "c:" line, add a new line and type "keyb be" (for a belgian keyboard) or "keyb fr". save the file and launch the game.

Enjoy your fixed a, q, w, z and m keys :-)
This should at least work in ScummVM. http://www.scummvm.org
