It seems even in 1920x1080 this game doesn't take full advantage of my 16:9 aspect ratio monitor. Is there a fix for this or is it just a limitation of the game? I should note, I'm talking about the black bars on either side of the screen even in resolutions that are my monitor's native aspect ratio.

Ah, okay. So the game was made for 16:10 resolutions. I sort of figured that was the case. Thanks for the links. :)

Er... what's exactly in the exe zip? The UI mod seems to work without it.

Exe files aren't required for mod to work. I placed them there because gog's version of king's bounty: the legend is broken.

Interesting. I guess I'll be grabbing an EXE then. Even GOG has an older EXE file for it, but I'm betting that's the buggy one.

Κατέβασα και γω, το [kbl_16_9_mod.zip] αρχειάκι και έκανα copy ΟΛΑ τα αρχεία στον φάκελο του STEAM που έκανα install το παιχνίδι π.χ: [C:...\\\\King's Bounty - The Legend\data]. ΧΩΡΙΣ να διαμορφώσω κάποιο αρχείο ή να κάνω κάποια αλλαγή, το παιχνίδι έτρεξε άψογα στην ανάλυση του LapTop μου 1600x900 (!!!) και ΧΩΡΙΣ τα ενοχλητικά μαύρα κενά, στα δεξιά κι αριστερά.

It would seem it still has many bugs, as after playing for hours and hours this week and really getting into the game, everything except the very first autosave I ever had got deleted. Sigh...
