In the game, the console cannot be activated.

Have added 'set developer 1' to the autoexec.cfg file, but when l start the game and press the ~ key, the console does not appear!

Is there something else to be done, maybe to the desktop icon?

Would greatly appreciate any help you can give me.
Have win 7 64, 6 GB Ram. Anyone else with this problem, and is there a fix for it?

What I did is created a new desktop shortcut. Then, right click on the desktop shortcut and after kingpin.exe type +developer 1. It should look like this;
"C:\Program Files (x86)\GOG.com\Kingpin\kingpin.exe" +developer 1
I found that the shortcut Gog creates when installing messes up the command line. The only drawback is you don't get the opening cinematic. It will go right to the console so just hit the tilde key and you'll be at the main menu.
