I've been playing this game and running into some weird crashes every now and then, including some persistent ones (like at the entrance of the Haxhi Dam).

The crash log always points to something driver-related, which might make sense since AMD rewrote their whole D3D11 driver recently and some issues still arise every now and then, and I have not seen this issue with my nvidia systems.

Figured I'd try DXVK, since it has fixed some other games for me, and crashes are completely gone. I'm not saying this will be the solution for all crashes one might face, but if you're using a Radeon-powered system and have these problems, it's worth a shot.

If you're using nvidia and have the same problems, by all means, give it a go as well.

(For clarification, this is from a Windows10/11 usage perspective)

Hello, I can't send you private messages. My game is crashing at the entrance of the Haxhi Dam. Can you write a short solution to the crash problem? I found DXVK on github, but I don't understand what to do. Please suggest a solution. Thank you! My pc is full amd hardware.

Should be as simple as downloading DXVK, extracting the contents and then dropping the x86/32 bit versions of dxgi.dll and d3d11.dll into the game folder, since it's mainly a DX11 game, and then run it. Have had absolutely no crashes since I've done it.

Since that other guy never replied, I just wanted to add my 2 cents by saying that your solution worked beautifully, that Haxhi Dam crash pissed me off to no end. Only thing I can offer for anyone who stumbles upon this thread just like me, is a small suggestion: instead of googling dxvk and going to first github result, check out PCGamikngWiki page about using dxvk. There's a more detailed tutorial and direct links to exact files anyone with ctd problems gonna need.

Many thx again!
