I'm trying to rebind the movement keys:
- Forward (w)
- LEFT (a)
- Backward (s)
- Right (d)

To use
- Forward (E)
- LEFT (S)
- Backward (D)
- Right (F)

Forward binds to E just fine.
Left, Backwards, and Right are all broken if you try to rebind them.

Do it and watch - it's impressively frustrating.
It will ignore you and leave it as it was, then try again and it will assign all three (Left, Back, Right) to the key you pressed.
Try again and it will assign a key at random.

OMFG it's totally broken.

I couldn't find any solution after searching these forums and steam forums.
I've put in a request for a refund.

I installed it yesterday, but I'm using an xbox 360 controller. I haven't checked the kb/mouse mapper yet, but by any chance there is an alt key setup in there?

I know some games have two rows for mapping each function and sometimes people forget to remove the secondary mapped key. I'm sure you've checked everything but thought I'd mention it anyway just in case.

Also, you could check the config file (I don't know the name offhand) and see if there are any weird lines there, such as 2 keys mapped to the same line or something like that. (I'll see if I can find that file tonight and report back tomorrow)

Since the game had a nice discount and since you have 30 days to refund, I'd recommend at least waiting a few days to find a solution. The discount may not be back for a while and some games never go below 50%. So far it looks just like I recall, only with better graphics.

Config file. Never found one, but I looked. (if only... an INI, json, or bind commands were available.)

I waited 10+ years because of this bug. A few more won't hurt

I haven't got the game installed still, but I believe the config files are in %APPDATA%\kaiko\koa

What olnorton said.

But also make sure you check the circle (for Win7) to see hidden folders and files under the folder options (by default it's set to hide. I think there are 3 options).

Or for Win10 check the box in File Explorer under the View tab (by default that box is unchecked).

It's the only way to see the appdata folder located in the c:\users folder (or whatever driver letter your game is installed under). A quick Google should give you some pics for whatever OS you use.
