I've been away from this game for some time and remember havintg enjoyed it in previous iterations, however there still seem to be elements of this game that are broken. The issues with starvation are still around and now I can't place a bakery. Whever I attempt to place one the game subtracts the required resources but the building doesn't build, not only that but it then prevents me building on the tiles which I'd chosen for the bakery - is anyone else having this issue ?

I'm just boosting the post, I'm having the same issue ever since the last update. I love that they've been updating it so often and with such robust updates. So I feel confident that the devs will fix the problem if they know about it.
Same here. Everytime I try it screws up says I can't put it where theres an existing building and from that point on the game can't save or autosave. I need my bakers, plz fix this lol :P
Same issue here. As I try to place one it doesn't show or build and the auto-save starts reporting an error.
It seems several years have gone by since the last posts but here it is 2019 november and the problem is still not fixed Game is useless if you cant build the baker. No advancement possible. Bad show GOG co it's a real neat game
Same issues here with:
- bakery not being built
- space stays barren but is blocked (can neither build anything else on those tiles nor is remove/demolish usable)
- save/autosave errors (game cannot be saved anymore)

My game is not installed under D:\castle\, so maybe that's why it gets the error?

I also haven't found any "Assets"-folder, neither in my installation folder nor in the save game folder.¯\_(ツ)_/¯

As stated in this post the the beta/development channel are somehow switched, the game runs by default in "Development Build".

After changing the setting to "BETA Channels" = On in GOG Galaxy ( > More > Settings > there on the top right side; leave Channel = Default) I am able to build bakeries now.
