On the Steam page for this game, it doesn't mention cloud saves, but the GOG page does. Why would it be available in one store but not the other? Can anyone confirm that's accurate?

That might be enough incentive for me to buy the game here, but what other benefits are there to having the game here other than this version being DRM-free? The Steam version will presumably have mods in the future, which will be easy to access there. If the game ever has its multiplayer feature restored, there's a possibility that the GOG and Steam versions won't be compatible.

I cannot confirm about cloud save ability for this title. I can however share what I said to someone asking on Steam about whether the game was worth the price. I'll quote what I said there, below. About modding: modders are coming together to make unified, open-source tools that *should* work regardless of what platform the game is run on (Steam, GOG, etc.). As far as I know you won't be at a disadvantage.

---------------

It is very nearly the same gameplay experience, with modest polish on-top. However, the devs have chosen to prioritize bug-fixes so far and that is something worth thanking them for IMO. The way I see it - and this is just my personal benefit - these are the things my money bought:

1. Accessibility: more convenient to launch KuF on my computer than Xbox or Xbox 360.
2. Native widescreen support. (I prefer 1920 x 1080 resolution).
3. Mild graphic improvements. (more upgrade possible via modding)
4. Recording footage is much easier.
5. Research: this won't apply to most people, but I can study the game more closely.
6. Modding: lots of options will be possible in the coming months based on early analysis of the game's structure.
7. Digital copy: discs degrade with time. Since new Xbox discs will not be made (naturally), $20 USD for a digital copy feels like a small ask.
It does have cloud saves.

I generally prefer GOG due to the fact I own the game and can play it anttime even with crap connection.

I don't know about mods, as I don't care and I have no idea if this title will support them.
