I've seen some posts from Warhorse developers, so I may hope that some of them still roam these forgotten forums. :)

The game is great! But you already know that, so let me get to the less pleasing matters.

I'm playing with Polish translations, and I must say that its quality sometimes (but often enough for me to be bothered to write this question) looks as if someone just copy-pasted the English texts into Google Translate, and then even managed to make a few typos on the way back.

Not always, though. The majority is pretty good. But with some parts - and I have a feeling that mostly with the DLC parts - it was so. For example, the "Nagródź" from the dog dialogue looks to me as if someone was trying to translate the word "Praise", without seeing in what context it is supposed to be used. It really, really does not fit the actual activity! ("Pochwal" would be pretty good).

In one case (but I've already forgotten when and where) the translation contained a spoiler of the quest it was used in, while the spoken English phrase did not contain anything like that.

A few bad apples, and a ruined taste of the whole barrel. :(

I have seen a modding tool being published on Nexusmods - that's a very noble deed, and the one for that I am deeply grateful and impressed!

Is the only way to enjoy also the beauty of the Polish language - in addition to the beauty of the game - to create a mod with corrections yourself?

Does it make any sense to hunt down these poor translations? Will there be someone who would be still making patches to the game?

While Warhorse is still active (they have recently announced a Switch port of the game and they are working on the sequel), I wouldn't hold my breath for a new update, especially considering that your problems are connected with one translation and not the game as a whole. If I were you, I'd just set the language to English.

And lose the last bits of the language of my motherland? NEVER! :-D

But yeah. Holding breath for months may turn out a little unhealthy. At least they gave us the modding tools.

It's a shame to see that some of my countrymen did so poor job. The more of the DLC I play, the more of these horribly broken translations I see. In one of the dialogues with Johanka I had to choose between two options: "I will go" and "I will go". Tough choice, isn't it? (I suspect that these options do differ a little in English).

I'm starting to believe (or even hope) that Warhorse hasn't actually hired any Poles, and just used Google Translate. That would save some of the honour of the company responsible for the localisation.

They probably weren't paid enough, it happens.
Don't let me get started on the Italian translation (subtitles only), when a good deal of times what is said by the characters is different by what appears on screen XD My brain has to literally split in two XD
