I have just started playing the game recently at the same time as I got a new laptop, so I'm not sure which is to blame. What's happening is that at semi-regular intervals the dialogue choices will start freaking out, in that the highlighted dialogue choice starts rapidly cycling through the choices at a speed at which I cannot know which choice will be selected if I hit "Enter" (because it's moving too fast). This happens when I am not touching any of the controls -- the dialogue choice selection just freaks out and spins like this. Once it starts happening, it won't stop until I quit the game and restart. I have noticed that when this is happening it also affects the sleep length selection menu. I tried to save by getting in bed so I could quit, but I couldn't move the sleep lenth selector past the one hour mark due to some sort of rapid input happening that I was not causing. Has anyone seen this behavior? Is a solution possible?

i've not heard of this before. have you tried the verify/repair option?
