That version crashes all the time a few minutes after a load, regardless what I do. During dialogues, after fast travels.during normal walks, ....

This game is very nice in principle, but technically not *fun* any more!

Tomorrow I will switch back to 1.3.3G and seeed what happens.

The last save before the 2 mentioned was stable for a while until I arrested Jeschek of Rohnau and talked to Master Feyfar. Then it crashed again! (Tested 3 times, always same result! "Go to Rattay", loading screen, crash)

Now I give up. Lessons learned: never buy a game until it's at least 2 years old!
Then it will be cheaper and (almost) bug free.
Ok, now I will play Witcher 3 for the 4th time. Bye.

Edit: some days later 1.4.2(g) is out and it seems to be stable! ;-) Thank you Warhorse. But GOG put duplicate confusing files into the DLC downloads.

I had not a single crash in the last 4 days.
But i begun a new game with 1.41..

Indeed it is. Actually I expected at least some hotfix for these horrid crashes by now...

Some saves don't crash at first - but when I continue the main quest, sooner or later I'm back to the desktop and once that point is reached, it'll happen over and over. I just hope they didn't break all the saves with the last update -.-

Interesting. So your cutscenes work on a new game? Just asking, since my game will run with a fresh game start too - it's just that at least half of all cutscenes are just being skipped and the whole story doesn't make sense at all.

All works good for me expect the 2 FIRST cutscenes!

So if you a new player than that is not acceptable.
I knew what happened and all other cutscenes worked for me after the 2 in skalitz so i played on..

no mods crashing, Mods Crashing, specific cut scenes cause CTD (plague for one) I had 25 hrs into the game and had to restart due to 1.4 now it looks like it will be a while for them to fix what they did with 1.4.1 so I guess it's time to shelf this game untill patch 2.5, a shame.

Man, I've been putting off KC:D experience for weeks now after running in some quest inconsistencies (could work around them, but where's the fun in that... also, much potential for screwing some other things there, so better not).

Guess I'll keep it shelved until the next major patch, despite being rather charmed with the game in the 40 or so hours I did play.

Set it to manual update, roll back to 1.3.4 and have fun, it's stable as hell and so far bug free for me.

This clearly is a game thing! Up to 3.x I only had 2 crashes in about 3 weeks, which is absolutely acceptable.

Yesterday installing 1.3.3 seemed to work, but the game not even started to the load menu. After starting the game I always sat bloody and dead in grass with nice bird singing araound not able to do anything except Alt-F4

So today I reinstalled 1.4.1 and loaded the last save made with 1.3.3, so I lost about 1 day of game play.
I was able to play without problems for about 5 hours, then I had to leave for a while, saved with a "retterschnaps" and shortly after that quit&saved. So I had 2 saves with a difference of about 30 seconds.

Immediately after loading one of these 2 saves I am automatically starting a dice game with the fresco painter! But I was not even near him while saving and I already hev played against him! And after the dice game ends (win or loose) I am standing near the monestary, where I saved.

From both saves I aleys get a crash after a few minutes. I have tried both several times now.

For me no game crash prior 1.4 patch, now I'm crashing randomly after few minutes...

I don't use Galaxy, and removed my old 1.3.4 installers because they were rather large (and, naively, I assumed I would not need them XD).

Anyway, given that Vavra stated he'll try adding a lot of content missing from the release, at this point I might as well give the game enough time to fully mature.

Yeah, had that idea too, downed 13gb for 1.3.4 and gave it a try. Too bad that 1.4 converted my save games to 1.4 and I can't load them with 1.3.4 anymore :(

No crashes for me after 1.4, and the game works generally smoother. I must be the only one.

Or have yet to hit the affected quests.

As soon as I approach the fort and this text appears on the screen that's it, game locks up and I'm unable to continue. Buttons don't work, nothing.

To get out of the game I have to CTRL+ALT+DEL to shut the game down with Task Manager.

At this stage, I can think of just three words to describe the state of this game right now...

Utter fucking mess.

I have backups of most saves.
Please help: where could I download 1.3.4. I only have 1.4.1 and 1.3.3 and the latter does not even start correctly. I could live with loading an old 1.3.3 save if it works.
