Seems that "laizes faire" approach infested the game a bit too much.

Why can't I lead my troops to battle? It's one of the basic things monarchs did.

And why can't I tell my subjects to drop the bloody hammers and pick up bows when the enemy is hammering our walls?

Moreover, the concept of "buy random equipment for 4 gold" is such a crap. One game, I bought bows very cheaply, the town prospered. The other game, he brought damn hammers.

Hello, game designers! I don't need 8 builders, I need 8 archers! A townsman picking a hammer is basically dead afterwards.

I am a king... so why am I mute?

I tend to think the travelling merchant is just there to give you a chance for cheaper farmers, as it saves you 16 coins if you're lucky. Better to just buy bows if the need is pressing, as it wouldn't save enough to justify the random chance.

What irks me more is the asthmatic horse. I just wish they'd at least allowed grass to grow between the towers, so it had some way to recover. Instead the landscape becomes both useless and aesthetically dull at that point.

It's a gamble. I always use it at first and once I am settle I avoid the merchant
