There's an LP on You Tube playing Kingdom New Lands with the new FREE Skull Island DLC. I presume GOG staff go on holiday at Xmas and steam staff don't?! I really am feeling like a second class citizen on GOG more and more!

It's bad enough that if you install via Galaxy it makes a shortcut so Galaxy opens first - just like steam, which is known as DRM! You have to muck around with the desktop shortcut if you want to start the game outside Galaxy!

What is happening to GOG? Has everybody now got all the retro games they want, so sales are way down?!
Frustration mounts!
For real GoG. Disappointed that there is not at least an information when the expansion will be released on GOG whereas Steam users can play it for more than a week.
I do not think the missing updates are GOG’s fault as they simply distribute the content. The issue is that that content is not being submitted to GOG by the developer / publisher. I think clear communication is key as it initially sounded like the updates were going to be available here and now it seems unclear whether it has been delayed or cancelled.

Either way I personally find the lack of information regarding the updates disappointing.

For contrast, Hello Games also have a small team working on No Man’s Sky, and while that launch did not go smoothly, from my perspective, they have recovered from that poor start by providing updates which have been available across various platforms within 72 hours of each other and planning ahead so they are no longer caught out at the last moment.

There does not seem to be any DRM in GOG’s version of Kingdom as it can be launched independently of whether Galaxy running or installed by executing Kingdom.exe directly. If there were DRM this would be much more difficult as some sort of license validation steps would be coded into Kingdom.exe to, for example, check whether Galaxy is running and launch it if it is not.

Yes you can run the exe manually. But as I say, if you install a game through Galaxy, it now has a shortcut through Galaxy so that Galaxy opens then the game. This is the same for any game installed in Galaxy. You then need to manually change the desktop shortcut if you want it to not open Galaxy first! While this isn't DRM, this is still Galaxy not giving you an option to avoid Galaxy other than through manually changing something. This is not what GOG said for years in terms of playing the game with or without Galaxy seamlessly. It is no longer seamless....
I agree, it would be nice to have a direct-to-exe short cut option.
Well, two weeks now. Personally I don't think we're going to get it because of "the small development team".

If only they had held back the steam version then there wouldn't be this hulabaloo. It's not that steam owners would have been any the wiser if the developer had just kept quiet and finished the Steam AND GOG version and then release them at the same time!

There are more examples every month. I have to agree. But if anyone can make a comeback......! :)

yeah i hope so
2 weeks ago I got a reply "finally" from Raw Fury about Skull Island for GOG.
The reply was "Once all the bugs are fixed from the update we'll release on GOG. So sorry for the delay!!"
Now I get an E-mail that says New Lands is available on the PSN network?

I see where rank in this as far as they are concerned.

didnt u hear, consoles are the true master race
Now 5 weeks, and we get the crap about the bugs. I am not hearing from my steam friends of any problems with their game, so this is a poor excuse. I don't think they realise, l will probably buy from GOG again, but I won't buy these guys next title, and will advise all my friends not to get involved in Kickstarter, etc.!
Thats it, im gonna buy Kingdom Come at Steam, after all they seem reliable.

Have a nice life gog.
