i just find it weird that descended from orlanth the dragon killer but threaten the dragonewt emissaries and its game over? according to the wiki anyway, i haven't reached that point yet but i'm gonna hex edit a thousand weaponthanes if ever i can't handle them with my 150 wt and 600 warriors.. and the fact that angering your ancient enemies too much leads to your defeat, why have the option to be ancient enemies in the first place?..
Don't think 1000 weapontanes will change anything in that game over event, it is just actually that, game over event NOT a true fight even. You still will have option to solder on, but it useless as they would keep attacking you again and again like every season or a like.

And yes, I have got that event several times, usually for abusing ducks too much.
(Hint: if you don't want to deal with this annoying neighbor, be wery nice and friendly first time you meet them, then take their land in ONE overwhelming attack so they relocate, they may not even become angry at that, and marsh ducks still will be friendly).

You should realize beastmen and the like are curently the natives of Dragon Pass while you (and all humans in general) are just a tiny band of imigrants in their lands, outnumbered like 1 to 1000 and likely much worse.

Beastmen are one of the elder races as are dragons. The very backstory of the game in the intro mentions that dragons slaughtered previous occupants of Dragon Pass (hence the name).

The objective isn't to crush everything militarily, it's to unite the clans and become leader of the Pass (which by definition involves diplomacy).

Well, your clan is not Orlanth (and doesn’t specialize in his anti-dragon magic). And, there isn’t any one thing that leads to a you-focused Dragonkill. You call that on yourself by a series of actions.

Yes, but oh boy does it strike hard when it happens. ^^

Which is not surprising when you realise that Dragons are not your garden variety D&D firebreather, but mountain-siezd god-level creatures that can level nations. A small village with a few dozen warriors and some good magic users is not on the same scale...

Same for the other "ancient enemies" : They are powerful spirits, nomad nations, powerful ancient empires led by immortal demigods... You can annoy and defy them, but if you become a threat, things won't be pleasant.

The whole point of the game is to unite weak squabbling tribes into a magical kingdom that will be able to stand up to some of the nasty stuff out there without getting squashed immediately
