There has been a Mac version of this game for a long time. I just bought it as part of the sale and was surprised to find that the Mac version was not included. I realize that it was my responsibility to check first, but how about adding the Mac version to GOG so we can all be happy.

Since 1999 — back when Macs were on PowerPC. So my guess is that GOG would have to put some sort of wrapper around the 1999 Windows 95 version. Not at all sure how satisfactory that would be.

Good to hear at least someone would want it, it’s been very low priority for us.

I didn't realize that you had never released an Intel version. I wish you'd consider it, although it now seems like the iOS version is the better one. If I had paid more for this version, I'd be a little pissed. As it is, I'll just let this one slide and not ask for a refund. I'm looking forward to playing this on my iPad.
Check out the comment at http://kingofdragonpass.blogspot.com/2013/06/architecture-redux.html which says that it can be run via Winery http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=28963&iTestingId=77542

I think it'd be quite satisfactory actually.
Cant even think of a game with less animation or time critical stuff that'd be easily damaged.

Here's hoping GOG gets a wineskin wrapper system of some sort going for mac and linux,
but I guess adding the rest of (or more of) the DOS catalogue is a priority (wrapper there as well).

And also not sure if the whole mac section is making them any money, so it might not be a priority.

Obviously, if Apple got their act together, there'd be an easy way to port from iOS to OSX,
which would be the best solution. I'd cave in and repurchase KoDP a third time in a heartbeat.

BTW, I still have an OS9 era Mac I use from time to time,
to play Civilization 1, Combat Mission and King of Dragon Pass.

I'm pretty sure GOG already uses Wine (Wineskin Winery?) with several games to make them work on MAC. I've seen discussions about it in several game forums. Obviously DOS (and any MAC native) stuff has priority as it's far easier to do.
+1 for Mac version.
Tried to make it myself with Winebottler, but it didn't worked out somehow :-/
Sorry for the "Me too" post, but I'd love a GOG release wineskinned windows version. I'm a huge fan of the iOS version, and have had bugger all luck trying to get anything running via Wine.

You can use Wineskin Winery to create your own wine wrapper around the game. So far works for me, save for some intermittent issues with sound/background music. There aren't too many things you need to do:

1) Download & install Wineskin winery (http://wineskin.urgesoftware.com/tiki-index.php?page=Downloads)
2) Update Wineskin to the latest version (should be 2.6.0 at the moment of writing)
3) Start Wineskin Winery.app and install a Wine engine (click on the plus sign, see install_engine.jpg attached). I used WS9Wine1.7.21, which seemed to work fine. Next, create a new blank wrapper (the button labeled such, see install_engine2.jpg). It will take a minute or so for Wineskin to create it.
4) Wineskin will create the custom wrappers in a specific folder, /Users/[username]/Applications/Wineskin. Start the wrapper .app you created. On first launch, the wrapper will display a Wineskin 'control panel' (install_game.jpg). Click on 'Install Software', which will bring about a new window (install_game2.jpg). Click on the button labeled 'Choose Setup Executable' and locate the setup file you downloaded from GoG.
5) The GoG installer handles the rest. Next time you want to play KODP, you only need to launch the wrapper you created.
