In the long version you have to become a king of all of Dragon pass, or something alone those lines.

You can definitely win, it's just very difficult. Even on easy, if you don't know what you're doing, everyone will die.
Yeah I realized that now, when I first played the game sometime back I never had a manual and so had to figure things out for myself and I just assumed that it was the kind of game where you played till you failed, since that's what always happened.
