hey everyone,

anyone managed to hack his values for goods, cows, magic etc. with the game? I found certain tables for download but they won't work with my version (the "new" gog version, 1.05).

When trying a simple "new scan" (e.g. for 140 goods) and then give away 10 ingame, the "next scan" for 130 doesn't turn up any addresses, which is strange.

Anyone having more luck and having any advice?

Have done lots of interesting things with hex editor in the save file of the old version.

Have not run the new one once at all, so may only speculate. Since new is actually full rewrite, it would be huge surprise if tables would pass. As to changing address on a valuable search, dynamic allocation?

Try doing a scan for All and then doing Decreased Value or Increased Value each time it changes.
Old version or new version? In the old one, I've been able to edit everything I've tried except children. The value type is 2 bytes.

That's probably because children are saved as an array of every year's births, shifted every year. So you have children age 1 year, children age 2 years, etc, up to children age 15. Funny, when you recruit farmers and they come with children, they all are added as age zero, so will be about for 15 years.

Well, it's long time and I have not checked right now, but some games do it this way and I think I remember KoDP did too.
Do you know how to find the entries for them in Cheat Engine?
