What features and bits of polish do you think would make Kim better? We can't promise to grant every request but our aim is to make everyone as happy as possible while staying true to our vision for the game. If you feel strongly about an idea, try and gather support for it and if you agree with someone else, let us know!
1. I'd like it easier to see which buildings I can enter. I realise the icon shows up when closer but an option to have it always on would be nice. Also maybe a few more options regarding what I can do at certain buildings.

2. At some point in the future a chance to live Kim's full human life rather than just his childhood. So this is me with imaginations of a successful game and future content expansions.

3. More quests! Can never have enough stuff for Kim to do!

4. More stories! I loved the reference of Man Who would be King with Daniel Dravot and Peachy. Will there be more? I'd like the opportunity to experience more of the stories of Kipling's work, adapted to fit the game.

5. A way to repeat labour jobs for earning money. I quite like the idea of spending a year or so of Kim just being a farmer, not a very good chela!

I'm sure I'll think of more random stuff. I suppose the bottom line is a greater variety of things to do. So far my pattern of play (admittedly only two games so far) has been rather similar where I've done the same quest beats, reached Benares and realised I'm totally poor and hungry and finding my food not being able to keep up with health levels.

I'm not sure about the stat values of food atm, I like the idea of them eliminating the hunger effect for a period of time but having to consume lots of food to refill the health bar feels excessive.

edit:

Also one thing which is curious to me; I have a dual screen display, this is the only game I have which launches on to my secondary display, not my primary.

Thanks Ranbir, this is great feedback, I'll discuss with the team. We will definitely be adding more content during Early Access so it's a firm yes to everything that is more of the same. New features require more careful consideration but if the game is successful anything is possible! We're certainly not in a hurry to stop working on it :)

Few immediate thoughts:

Re 1. We have keyboard commands coming so we could add one: Press Ctrl to pause and show all icons in a level, I agree it would be useful.

Re 5. Good idea, it would be cool if there was a skill check at the end of a job and if the stat relevant to that job was high enough, Kim was invited to work for a second month.

Re difficulty and balancing food, that is something we're always looking at. I expect you'll find the game easier as you learn more of its secrets but do keep letting us know if it's too much like hard work keeping Kim healthy and happy :)

Finally for you and for anyone else reading, we love feedback like this so keep it coming!

Jeremy
Do you plan on translating the game ? I would personally be much more likely to buy it if a French / German version is available.

We're hoping to translate it at the end of Early Access once the English text is finalized.

Hi, I recently bought the game and the soundtrack and I would very much like an Italian translation of the game to appreciate it in its entirety, do you still think you can translate it in the near future?
Thanks and congratulations for the realization of this fantastic game!
Hi Alexim, thanks very much for the kind words, awesome to hear you're enjoying it! I'm afraid we don't currently have any plans to do translations. It would be a mammoth task as there is so much text in the game and a particularly challenging one since much of the writing is Kipling's own and therefore very hard to replicate. Sorry to disappoint you, we will certainly let everyone know if we start a translation initiative in the future.

Thank you for your answer, a translation would be fantastic precisely for the large amount of text and I'm sure it would attract many people who feel blocked by the language barrier, but of course it would require a lot of resources that an indie game cannot always afford and I understand that perfectly. Anyway, the game is very intuitive and well done, with a top level art sector, so congratulations again!

Thanks for answering. I knew there was few hope (me for french translation), for the causes you say.
Is there going to be a Linux version on GOG? And if so, when?
Wishlist:

*URGENT: Fix the bug which makes Kim unresponsive to mouseklicks. Doesnt move anymore. played 20 Minutes and got stuck several times, until finding the right unlogical spot to klick(?), finally got stuck when leaving the train. only quitting helps.

*URGENT: fix scaling problems at 3440x1440 fullscreen. top and bottom are cut off. Playing in windowed mode in lower resolution works of course, but is very anti-immersive.

Hi audilli, I'm afraid we're not planning a Linux version of Kim on GOG at this stage and it's unlikely in the future.

Hi Flexman, sorry to hear you've encountered these issues, I will look into them, could you please let me know if you're playing on Mac or PC?

It would also be great if you could send over your save game so we can take a look at it. You can attach it to an email to hello@secretgamescompany.com. The file is called called KimDB.bytes and is found in this folder (on Windows):

C:\Users\[YOUR USERNAME]\AppData\LocalLow\The Secret Games Company\Kim

Thanks for your help and sorry for the slow reply.
