Back in the day when this came out, I was really blown away by the completely atmospheric outdoor environments, which at that time was highly unusual in a shooter. I just stood in that boat and looked around in awe. After nothing but corridors and tunnels and sewers and rooms in so many games for so long, this was a real breath of fresh air.
Then I was further stunned when the FMV ghosts showed up, and once again I just stood there marveling at what was occurring in front of me. In other words, I fell instantly in love with this game. I still have my original box of the PC version and everything that came inside it.
All these years later, playing this new version now on a large 4K monitor, I was swooning all over again. I felt like I was visiting my long-dead grandparents' farm again as I did when I was a child, the nostalgia and warm feelings washing over me like a comforting blanket.
Croyzers: thank you so much Nightdive for releasing this
I completely agree. They've given me so many pleasant nostalgic experiences over the past years, and I am very thankful they exist. :-)
