Well title says it all, I cannot launch KSP 1.9 - fresh install,.1.8 still works fine.
It just crashes... System is Win7 64-Bit with a NVidea GTX 1060 6GB and I have up to date Gfx Drivers.
And I have Unity 2019.3 running, so well that should not be the problem.

Same here, also Win7 with up-to-date Nvidia driver GTX 1660Ti...
Hope this will be fixed...

2 days I've been looking everywhere for a solve on the 1.9 update not loading. I've tried many things to get this game to load. Including removing all mods, uninstalling the game and removing all files, uninstalling my gog galaxy thing, it's folder and all files, upgrading to galaxy 2.0, installing the game, uninstalling, reinstalling in a different folder, adding '-force-opengl' to the shortcut, and many other things. I get that quick image pop up for a split second then nothing. I tried going back to 1.8 but that doesn't seem to be an option.
System is Windows 10-64 bit, Intel Core i5-8600 CPU @3.10GHz, 32GB RAM, Radeon RX 570 with updated drivers(20.2.1), This is the first time I have ever had an issue trying to load a game.

Hopefully there will be a fix soon.

Edit: So, I got rid of everything once again, including the GOG galaxy thing, and re-installed everything and it's all now working. So I'm thinking the file got corrupted somehow during the download. I recommend trying it a few more times, then come back here to see what's up.

There's a new patch, haven't tried it yet. Hope this will solve the misery...
BTW: If the file were corrupted, the validation before installing should pick that up.
Unless the file is corrupted from the source and got under the radar...
I don't believe GOG would let this happen.

Hey guys, as Malarious says doing a clean install fix the issue.

I also had this issue with build 36046 offline files from a clean install (Windows 10 1803, R9 390). Using the patch after having started that version still didn't work, but reinstalling with a newly downloaded 36208 build did. I didn't uninstall and reinstall the DLC for the new build, that might have been the problem with the patch.

For some reason the new version is still listed as 1.9.0.02781 on the download page, although the patch version shows the f2 on the end. At first I thought the update dot was just due to a late Linux version update. So anyone having trouble make sure you have the 36208 build (version 1.9.0.02781f2) and then do an uninstall and install (keeping save games and settings.cfg is fine).

At one point I had trouble with an old version not uninstalling cleanly, although 1.8.1 did uninstall cleanly. If you have been updating for a while it might be worth checking that only the saves, Screenshots, thumbs, and possibly UserLoadingScreens directories have something in them (the uninstall did leave a few extra empty directories) before installing the new version.

I think they added a new Ultra Terrain Shader Quality setting this time so also check the graphics settings before loading a game if you want to enable that.
