Anyone know what causes this?
In my current game (320 days) I've not had many issues with turrets outside of random turret node failure, which is fixed on reload.
For the longest time I was using a setup with tier 2 walls and tier 4 gate without any lasting problems. I have since moved to a new base in Okran's pride, this time using tier 4 walls/gate. It has been a bit twitchy. Turrets somehow have even less range on fully elevated t4 walls than tier 2, presumably because of angling limitations.
But that aside, it has now reached a point where my gunners won't fire at anything, which just happened out of the blue. They won't even fire on enemies actively attacking my gate without a manual target order. Tried reloading, tried fixing things in editor mode, tried finagling them on and off turrets, but it seems permanently broken, at least as of today.
The only other thing I can think of is that I have a lone gate built slightly out from my walls that acts as a bridge over the water. It works perfectly for that purpose, no probs with AI pathfinding. Invading armies pull up at that gate instead of my main gate, express their dialogues if any and then march through and attack my main gate.
I built the gate there weeks ago so I'm not sure if that's related to it. I might try dismantling it and use the platform in edit build mode as that appears to be my only option for a working bridge outside of gates.
