Is anyone else experiencing stuttering issues with Kane and Lynch: Dead Men? I am a bit miffed here as my computer is more than capable of playing this game at maximum settings with everything enabled, and yet I am experiencing some of the most obnoxious and consistent stuttering issues when simply running around, aiming, shooting, whatever. Does anyone have a fix for this? Particularly obnoxious because I am a big IOI fan and was interested in finally checking this game out, but I just don't think I want to continue playing it in this state. Any help would be appreciated.

Have you tried any of these fixes?

Didnt really work for me, but perhaps because it was more a series of long freezes rather than actual stuttering. Using an i7 4790 and gtx 1660 ti with windows 10 64

It runs fine on my newer X570 ryzen 3600 but my b350 ryzen 1700 it stutters. I tried the fix. It didn't do anything. It might be cpu affinity related. It's like a pulse stutter. only this game the 2nd one is fine on both machines. Both are Nvidia Cards

Getting the exact same thing on an older gaming laptop (2.3GHz CPU, 4GB 1050Ti, 16GB RAM, SSD) and it's stuttering with a predictable frequency. If you circle the mouse around the screen, it's like a stutter every 2 seconds. Once in game, the framerate will lurch back and forth between 20-120 fps. In contrast, I can run the second game at 1080/60 with all settings maxed without issue.

The proposed solutions at pcgamingwiki don't seem to help and the the directinputfix and dinput8wrapper options just cause the game to close after the starting splash screen.
I finally got the first game to run without stuttering (4GB GTX1050Ti GPU) using the 2nd option on the pcgamingwiki page - the DInput8Wrapper DLL file from a github link.

You just drop it in the install folder and although it gave me an error a few times, it eventually launched. The stutter is gone yet I swear the performance still dips from time to time when it never does in the sequel.

Just take note this disables any gamepad detection, which is a shame as the twitchy aim and situational cover system feel smoother with a gamepad.

Are you playing through Galaxy or just using the offline installer?
It should be working out the box with no stuttering or crashing at least without Galaxy, for me the stuttering still happens with the steam version still.

this fix from Gog for F.E.A.R also works for Kane and lynch on steam so id try that with the gog version.

I am playing with Gaalxy and also no problem. So Galaxy is not the issue here.
I have this problem too. See the screenshot. For me, it seems the problem is the game itself. I also checked with LatencyMon for abnormal counts or conspicuous interrupt times...couldn't detect weird driver behavior. ...still puzzled

Alriighhhht, the following worked for me:
Device Manager > Human Interface Devices:
Disabling all HID-compliant consumer control device

I maybe was to fast evaluate the measurements at LatencyMon. a dx dll actually had quite some milliseconds accumulated ... more as one would wish. Since other fixes deal with software for input, I tried that one. Credits go to gaming wiki!!

edit
maybe of importance: win10x64, i3-8100, z370, gt640, ae7
but one of the HID-compliant devices was linked to a once installed saitec device (none connected at the moment lol), but had tons of different peripheries and some cards/cps switched since os set-up

I get the stutters every two seconds - trying this fix above causes my game to no longer start

I did the Direct input fix which has a dx8dll with no luck but just adding this on top of that fix did the trick. It just replaces the dx8dll.
Just bought and returned within half hour, the fixes didn't work. It's locked at 120 FPS with RTSS and you can see it with a clear pattern, on beat. 120/105, 120/105.. If it wasn't a hard stutter on every drop it wouldn't bother me, but it is.
Every second like clockwork.
Unplayable
13980HX/64GB ram/4090M

I was really hoping the dinput dll fix would work. Unless I have it in the wrong folder, but it says to place it in the installation folder next to game exe and for me that's the root kane and Lynch folder of my GOG install folder.

RPCS3 it is.

Sorry can you explain what you mean? I know this was a year ago but I just don't understand your post. I think you are saying, like myself, the dpinput dll replacement fix didn't work., but you did something else in combination with that which DID work. I just can't work out what the other thing you did was.

Worked fine for me too, just drag and drop the dll file
