Hello,

during the installation of this game, the installer says that the MS Visual C++ 2012 Redistributable (11.0.61030) needs to be repaired, both x86 and x64. Does this happen to others, too? I have some concern that this repair might damage something...

My PC is Win 7 Pro SP1 64-bit, newest patch level.

Thank you.

Hi, I haven't managed to install J.U.L.I.A. yet, but I had this when I tried to reinstall Galaxy, not that it helped. I don't think that would damage your computer at all, but perhaps it's best to check with GOG support.

Just like ZenWan, I had this happen during the latest GOG Galaxy update. Maybe the fact that it happened during your installation of J.U.L.I.A. is just a coincidence? Either way, I just let the script repair C++ and everything seems to be operating just fine.
I think it happens if you already have it installed. The setup thinks you're running it to "repair" it.

I let it run, and everything seems ok.
hi, this problem still exists, 9 out of 10 games have it, all games that depend on it will keep trying to install/repair the 2006 (in myc ase) when i cancel he tries again with a 2012 version notice , so the stuff keeps on nagging, i dont think this will (or can) ever be solved, so i usually wait or click and 99% the game works after its installed.

i know its a bit messy but if it works, it works.

Don't worry about it and let installer run. If you have already VC++ runtimes in your system such installer will not add/broke anything if/when will find newer files.

If you're not sure about it then check Microsoft Update. MU is enhanced Windows Update and can install/update e.g. runtimes like VC++. If you don't have MU yet then upgrade... but remember to not switch to "automatic" because MS will force you into Win10!

EDIT: Sorry! What I've write is for VC2012 but (old) installer for VC2008 is really trying to "repair" (or uninstall). Then "Cancel" is only one option. I you (or somebody) did "repair" then Microsoft Update should fix it.
