Control stick isn't properly recognized, can't set it with dpad, can't get steam to launch it without having to mess with dosbox

Which? Jazz 1 or 2?

Either way, I will make the heretical suggestion of playing a source port with modern joystick control.

OpenJazz is even one of the older ones; it dates back to 2005. So it's quite code mature, but still updated.
