Whenever the screen changes, it goes all black except for my mouse. When I move around my mouse, it uncovers the screen. I am on 64-bit Windows 7.

If the game uses DOSbox, which I think it does, open the .conf file, located in the folder where the game is installed, with Notepad. Search for the line "fullscreen". Should be somewhere near the top. If its "true", change the value to "false".
The game will start in windowed mode, but it should fix the black screen problem. Also, remember to update your video drivers. :)
