GOG says the patch level is 6.0. From the research I've seen the latest is 6.04. Will the GOG version work with those patches? The bug list fix from 6.0 to 6.04 is no small amount.

It's odd that Gog haven't updated to the latest patch. Either they missed it or its not actually an official patch, but I can't seem to find out either way. You should beable to add the patch to 6.0 though without anyproblems I would imagine, just like adding mods etc.

Zuxxez owns version 6 of the game. I believe Strategy first has up to version 5. According to the official website: http://www.ja2.de/wf/en/index.html , you can't upgrade version 5 to version 6. So if this is version 6 from Zuxxez hopefully it will update. Yes, I know it's only $6.00 and some change for the gamble, but no reason to throw that away if it doesn't work. The latest version is 6.04. There is supposed to be a 6.06 patch coming, but I think that was due in 2007. Don't know if that one will ever show up.
Couldn't resist. Downloaded it and it is 6.04 which is the latest you can get. It's the Zuxxez version so all is well.

There actually is Wildfire 6.06 but it's actually fan port of Wildfire to JA 2 1.13. / [url=http://ja2.hoenir.de/index.php?option=com_remository&Itemid=2&func=select&id=66]Download.
It's still beta and has some fan made changes that may or may not be to everyone's liking.

I bought this here earlier this week and installed it a few minutes ago.
After running it it shows it's version 6.04.
So the game page is wrong on the version.
Just informed gog.com support about it.
