I've run into a bit of an annoying problem. Whenever I load a specific save game, the game will crash as soon as any time passes in game. The save loads as normal, and I'm able to do everything on the map that I'm usually able to (like hire new mercs), but as soon as I try to advance time (either on the map screen or by entering the region where my merc team is currently located at), the game will crash to desktop. I can load an older save and the game will run just fine.
This is by the way the second time that this error has appeared. My first attempt at the game was quickly cut short by this error. Now I luckily have a relatively recent save game, but I just conquered a tricky region, and it would be nice to not have to re-do the exact same thing again.
I also don't get a proper error report when it happens, so I have no error code to give that might be of any use. I do know though that there is no cutscene that is about to start, or anything like that which causes the issue (I played for a few min after the save before I quit last time).

If it is of any help, here is my computer specs (though I don't think it will be of much use, considering the nature of the problem):
Win XP Sp3
GeForce 7600GT
Intel Pentium 4 3.2ghz (HT, not dual core)
MPS 945P Neo3 motherboard

What I've noticed is that you sometimes need to enter the area where your mercs are, or any area (didn't test properly) before pressing '+' or click to let time pass.

I had this, but I can't remember exactly how I solved it. I think it was along the lines of potato head's suggestion. In my case it crashed after about 15 minutes of time had passed, not straight away, so I had to slightly play forward by about 5 minutes, then go back to my mercs (perhaps exit the map with them), then go out again, and it was ok. Alternatively you can wait with your mercs passed the point when it crashes.

Sadly it is enough for a few seconds to pass while zoomed into an area for the game to crash, no matter what area I zoom into.

Okay, have you tried to zoom in on another saved game or a new game? I think it has something to do with this. When it works on another game, then try reloading.

I just tried it, and it sadly did not work either :(
It's quite simple, I've posted this as a solution in another thread about this issue.

You need to know the exact in-game day and time the crash happens.
Speed time up to 1 minute before that crash.
Go down to whatever map you're on.
Let time pass till at least 1 minute after the crash time, than go back to the overview screen make a save and pass time quick again.

That sadly did not work for me. As soon as I zoomed in to the map region and time start to pass, the game crashed.

Oh well, I beat the region again, and killed queen Dedriana. Thanks everyone for trying to help me.
