Are there any plans to port any of the JA series to Macs? I loved the game back in the day and I'd really like to play it again.
According to yesterday's Interplay news for Mac, there's a chance JA2: UB might be ported to Mac:
A total of 12 Interplay games can be purchased on GOG.com right now with more Interplay titles coming to our catalogue in the future.
I have Parallels (version 7, I think, running on Mac OS 10.7), and it works pretty well for other GOG games. I purchased JA2 to try and am having issues, I posted in another thread that reported a solution for the same issues (but that solution doesn't work for me). Hopefully I get it running.

You can also use Apple's Bootcamp, where you restart into Windows, and there are other virtual products as well (VMWare's Fusion, for one). I prefer not to have to restart, so Parallels works pretty well. I've played quite a few other games, including more recent titles, and JA2 is the first one that has given me difficulties.
The original JA and JA:Deadly Games are DOS games so porting them to Mac would be easy

I understand there's DOSBox for Mac right? Simply install the GOG version of JA and JA:DG on some Windows machine, copy the game's installation files to a Mac folder and fire up Mac-DOXBox!

There are dosbox versions for almost every OS
Would also love to play Jagged Alliance on my Mac!

I'm playing JA2 on OSX with this OSX wineskin wrapper on Lion with an ATI Radeon HD 5770:
http://www.paulthetall.com/jagged-alliance-2-mac.html

It's a wrapper for JA2 unfinished business but just follow the very simple instruction, they are shown in the background of root folder of the disk image downloaded, lol, sort of very Macish approach. And the instruction for JA2 UB matches those for JA2. Just use the GOG installer and it should work.

Now there's a little trick, each time you launch the game in OSX wait the start videos (trademarks stuff) finish, don't skip them. They are rather short so it's just a little nuisance.

Myself when I skip them the top of the screen shows some garbage. Otherwise it's perfect, few hours spend in the game. Raging a bit about the interface and a bit about incompetent mercenaries I hired but ok it's interesting. Well last session ended in a bloodbath, with my mercenaries killing each other, satisfying. :-P

EDIT:
And for JA1 as mentioned in previous posts it's a DOS game and DOSBox is well maintained for OSX and DOSBox is finely tuned to support all DOS games more or less classics.

If you are lazy or with zero tech skills and don't want install yourself JA1 with DOSBox OSX you can also try PlayOnMac to create a wineskin wrapper for the windows GOG windows installer and then play the game with the wrapper around the DOSBox windows version installed. The gain of this method is to use the GOG Installer DOSBox setup. It can be more trouble to do it manually with DOSBox OSX than install a new wrapper with PlayOnMac and GOG installer. :-)

Here a simple instruction list (or just follow instructions when choosing the option to install a program non listed):
- Launch PlayOnMac (if its first time launch just follow the instructions to setup everything on your Mac).
- Choose install a program, this open another window.
- At bottom right click on the link to install a program non listed.
- Select create a new virtual disk and gives it a name not used yet.
- Then there's an option screen, let all unchecked and continue.
- Then select the GOG Windows installer you have downloaded.
- Let the GOG installer finish and quit it without to launch the game to let MacPlay finish the setup.
- After the GOG installer quit PlayOnMac search the icons and exe and shows you a list.
- Choose the game exe, MacPlay will create even a shortcut with a game icon.

Lol I'm lazy enough to have did it few time, like now I'm playing Heroes of Might and Magic III Complete on OSX through wineskin and , it runs perfectly and it's a great game.

Quote that PlayOnMac proposes a wrapper for GOG JA2, but for me it didn't work unlike the wrapper mentioned previously.

About JA2 wrapper no garanty it's the same on any computers, moreover I realized that it was less about not skipping the start video and more about not moving the mouse until those video has finished. I also played some hours and crash once, not sure if there was any special reason.

For now it seems I could do anything like doing missions, dialogs, use the computer and check the web sites, hire, read emails, all fights command seems work and so on. Perhaps the single crash was some weird rare context. I need progress more in the game to be more sure but it's not easy to pinpoint how manage it. :-)
