I did not get this game from GOG. I have a CD from about 10 years ago which I used to install the game on my computer. It worked for days perfectly but recently I've been having strange problems. For a while when I tried to quicksave it would sit there with the "Saving..." box up for much longer than it had previously, and eventually it stopped working completely. By that I mean, it stays on the "Saving..." screen forever and I have to open Task Manager to quit out of the game.

Then I had just defeated Alma completely and was running around opening things up and talking to people when the "Meanwhile..." box popped up for a Deidranna cutscene. Only this time, I hit OK and the screen went black... and never came back. I'm confused as to what the problem could be and I just wanna keep playing the game and liberating Arulco from its fascist overlord. :'( Is that so much to ask?

I use Windows 7.

OK I solved my own problem. All you have to do is go into the saved games file and delete your quicksave file (make sure you have the same game in a different slot) and then start up the game and it should work just as smoothly as in the beginning. It took like 5 minutes for the speed to get back up to normal again. Very happy about that, but unfortunately I can't quicksave anymore and have to use regular save slots. Oh well! Well worth it for being able to play this brilliant game.

On a sidenote, mustard gas works great against bloodcats. Get your gas masks on, jump in the middle of a cloud of mustard gas, set your weapons on burst fire and watch them drop while your squad squeals with glee. Regular grenades don't work nearly as well.
