I know, basic stuff but I can't figure it out. I checked through the help menus and as far as I can tell it doesn't say anything about healing, just that mercs can rest. But I have no idea how to get anyone to rest. Do I have to wait until night? I have a medic in my squad but he only bandages people up in the field, I think. I dunno, it's confusing. I could use a little more "hand holding", lol.

There's a bed column in the strategic overlay. Just click on the row of each mercenary you want to rest. They slowly regain energy by idling as well. You can rest your mercenaries at any time as long as they are tired, just not when moving. So plan your moves accordingly. (http://s21.postimg.org/s2ueqrktj/sleeping.jpg)

To heal you need to assign a doctor (someone with good medical skill), have a medical kit in their inventory and mercenaries you need to heal assigned as patients. Try using the medical kits to heal on the strategic overlay and 1st aid kits on the tactical map exclusively, because you can only use medical kits for healing deeper wounds.
It's mildly relative, I notice mercenaries could bleed real time (probably when a fight finish and not yet bandaged) and couldn't find the command to has all bandaging done. The interface design is far to be good it's full of mini garbage like that. If someone could help. :-)

Well it's A (lol) ok nevermind but that's an option important enough to not be hidden just behind a weird key. And the real time bleeding is just an awful design detail in a game mainly turn based.

When the fight is over, you'll be asked if you want to heal all mercs. That's assuming you have at least 1 merc with a medical skill above 0 and a first aid or medkit.
The fight is over once all enemies in the sector are daed.
sorry for opening an old post, but... about this healing/bandaging... when after battle it comes up with the *heal this merc* screen... is there any way to do all at once? or is it only single merc? (JA2: 1.12 *standard*)

All mercs will be healed if you choose that option after battle, provided you have enough med kits or first aid packs.
