Grenades, LAW, dynamite. Any explosion can crash the game, not every time but very frequently.

1. How to prevent the game from crashing, ever, at all? This game crashes and crashes and crashes and crashes and crashes. Really intensely sux.

2. How to enable an AUTOSAVE? So you don't have to remember to save manually?
Getting tired of playing the same scenario for the forty-third time.

I assume you are talking about JA2 as JA or JADG didn't have LAWs.

1) I must say I never saw crashes because of explosions. Crashes due to stealing, yes, but not explosions. I am afraid I can't help you here.

2) There is no autosave in JA games. You must do all your saving manually. Fortunately, there is Quick Save (ALT+S), which is very comfortable to use (also ALT+L for Quick Load).
