Hi everyone,
i finished the first Jagged Alliance few years ago and thought that it will be not so hard to jump back into the mercenary world...
But i was torn completely even in the fist stage (after the helicopter crash).
Do you have any hints (which mercs. would be best to start etc. ) for "beginners" ?
Thanks,
Dav
First: do not save a penny, buy the best mercenaries you can.
Second: save a lot. I mean a lot, lot, lot.
Third: patience, you will need it.
saving and patience was applied, but as i do not know how the game will proceed (whether enough cash will be available for each day), i settled with the low-medium rate mercs.
Any other hints e.g. re equipment ?
Thanks.
Dav
Forget about saving money in the beginnig. Later in the game you will have too much money.
Hints: aim, sometimes is better to shoot just once for a good hit. Don't aim to the head if you are pretty far (you will miss). Try to always keep two or more mercs together, they will get "opportunity attacks" (yellow turns) against running enemies. Load the game if one of your mercs get seriously hurt.

That is really good advice, I can wouch for that. Follow that and it won't be as hard.
Hard games like this are fun though!

limber: Agree to that, but at the time i played previous parts, the time commodity was almost for free (school, no money, no girlfriend) so there wasn't any problem to save/load some mission hundred times ;-)
Now the time management is becoming a serious issue...
