I most certainly would... unless the graphics put you off.
Be advised, however - you'll likely miss some of the stuff you took for granted in JA2...

Compared to JA2, JA1 is definitely a downgrade.
Both in gameplay as in graphics.
Nevertheless it's a good game and definitely worth the money.
